Hello, I have been following the progress of the Kaptain G googles for over a year now and I would like to know how Jerolac intends to select beta testers in the field; especially for the U.S. FPV quad market.
I am an avid mini quad hobbyist / builder and fly nearly every day that the weather permits ( racing and open field freestyle ) I am VERY interested in your product and have been in communication with several representatives for the company over the past year. How may I go about being considered for beta testing of your first units to be retail released to the U.S. market? I am sure that you would require extensive torture testing, communication, and documentation; all of which I would be willing and greatly pleased to provide in return. I would hope that the company intends to release a tested and working product within the next 3 months in order to obtain Summer 2018 sales, market share, and reputation.
Thank you very much. Kerry Kalls. Michigan U.S.A

Hello Kerry Kalls, Thank you very much for your interest in our products and admire your enthusiasm for drone flying.
I fully understand it is significant that our products are tested and verified by pilots before released. Well, it is a very sensitive answering how we will select people who will test at the moment. Because we can't provide our goggles to all the passionate pilots. (It is not their problem, it is ours because we are not a big company) In my humble opinion, beta testers should be professional and social so that they have talked about many issues related FPV with many people who have various opinions. (And it will be the best if they are contributing FPV such as making educational videos or writing columns)
Surely, we consider the U.S. market is very valuable and hope pilots in U.S.A to evaluate our products as well. Decisions our team have made to bring perfect & flawless products are delaying releasing Kaptain G we are supposed to at least a few months ago. (Personally, I really wished if we could release Kaptain G on 1st of April somehow)
The issue we have faced at the moment is related to displaying screens which is the most important part of the FPV goggles. We noticed the screen has a problem in some particular situation.
I'm terribly sorry but I can't still provide the estimated release date.
We never give up and hopefully, you would get the result soon.
Thank you. Elliot Yim

Thank you for the update Elliot! I'm just curious, what sort of issues are you having with the LCoS displays? Topsky has been struggling with defective displays where one goes dim or fuzzy. Some people have suggested the problem is heat dissipation. Apparently the driver chip can overheat.

Some people have suggested the problem is heat dissipation. Apparently the driver chip can overheat. Hello, whiffles. We are also struggling with the heat dissipation so redesigned PCB layout and conducted several tests (We changed some chips). We found a burn-in-like phenomenon when the LCoS panel is overheated than 60℃ or so. It isn't a permanent damage but we will get our goggles even lower temperature anyhow. (And hope no one uses the goggles when it's extreme weather conditions like 60℃) Thank you Elliot Yim

Thank you for your quick reply. I can understand the usual selection process in order to gain the most social Bang for your buck . I would have to assume it would be the usual YouTube crowd that would receive your 1st units For testing long before they are even able to report with a video .
If the company would consider hardcore enthusiast's such as myself and provide an early release or a small discount for our enthusiasm that would be much appreciated.
I understand that everything is Quid Pro Quo; if Jerolac were to recognize its small group of people that have diligently followed the long term progress of this potentially market changing product, it would bemost certainly rewarded with customers and advocates for a long time to come.
I would greatly appreciate if you would bring this to your bosses attention, and let them know that they have a secondary group of people that they should consider for special attention. I hate to come off as a beggar, yet this is really the only way to communicate my concerns. Thank you!
P.S. What does the company plan on doing to reduce operating temperatures of the unit? Different thermal paste, new electronics, extra fan cooling?

I never forget people who have followed us from the last year and will definitely bring this topic to our team. I am sorry but I can’t tell you about the plan for reducing temperatures because my engineers have spent many efforts, time and money to develop these goggles so I can’t simply spoil it. (Also, I think our team is not the only one who uses this panel and system.)
